Lawndale : Cable TV Sale Delayed
The City Council has put off approving the sale of the city’s cable system until Group W, the current owner, fulfills the terms of its contract with the city. Assistant City Manager Paula Cone said that the contract calls for Group W to wire schools and public buildings together in an interactive cable network and to install residential cable hookups in every classroom. Group W is trying to sell the Lawndale system to a consortium of five cable companies.
