As a member of the steering committee of the San Diego Cruise Industry Consortium, I have watched it develop into a most remarkable civic organization.

More than 100 business leaders have lent their names to the cause of attracting a good, clean and appropriate industry to our city.

As chairman of the marketing and media committee, I have overseen Harrison Enterprises in the proper expenditure of matching advertising funds--with no agency commission--to cruise companies that have chosen us as their home port.

I have also noticed Harrison Enterprises provide excellent service to the cause, over and above the call of duty.

Harrison’s account is a good-sized one for any agency in this city; Don Harrison has earned his fees. He operates more as an executive director than an agency and hence puts in many, many hours in serving the consortium and the community.

In addition, he has been a wizard in obtaining in-kind services from a great number of suppliers, from food purveyors to hotels.

These kinds of activities should be noted in the political milieu Harrison operates in.
