Andrews, Baxter Win Racquetball Titles

Top-seeded Ed Andrews and Cindy Baxter successfully defended their titles Monday in the American Amateur Racquetball Assn.’s national singles championships at Houston. The victories marked a fourth open championship for each player, a tournament record.
Andrews, 29, of Huntington Beach, beat Andy Roberts of Memphis, Tenn., 15-12, 15-7, while Baxter, 31, of Lewistown, Pa., defeated Trina Rasmussen of Rancho Cordoba, 15-14, 15-12.
Bob Wetzel of Costa Mesa and Mary Walker of Canoga Park each placed third in the men’s and women’s 50-54 division.
The event attracted more than 900 entries.
