Fallbrook

Eager to protect Fallbrook from high-density development, a coalition of residents will appeal to San Diego County planning officials this week to allow homes on lots only of two acres or more, the group announced Tuesday.

Friends of Rural Lifestyle leaders plan to file an application seeking to amend current requirements allowing homes on one-acre parcels. Members of the grass-roots group maintain that the two-acre minimum is needed to protect the rural life style of the unincorporated community.

The group also is seeking prohibitions on the clustering of homes and the construction of sewers, which they say can induce growth. Before the amendment goes into affect, however, it will have to win approval from county supervisors.
