The husband of a woman who runs a home day-care service in Gilroy was convicted of molesting two girls left in his wife’s care. Alvin McManus, 34, was convicted by a Santa Clara County Municipal Court jury on two counts of misdemeanor child molestation. He faces a possible six-month jail sentence and a $1,000 fine on each charge, but Deputy Dist. Atty. Lynn Knapp said felony charges--which would carry a prison sentence--could have been filed, and Gilroy police are now investigating whether a 3-year-old boy was also molested. McManus’ wife was not charged.
