PGA Tour Commissioner Deane Beman has rejected golfer Mac O’Grady’s appeal of a $5,000 fine, suspension and one-year probation, but a PGA official said that O’Grady can stay on the tour until he exhausts his appeals to a separate PGA board.
Ric Clarson, director of public relations for the tour, said Beman denied O’Grady’s first appeal earlier this month. But the golfer’s six-week suspension, which was to have taken effect Monday, will be delayed for 30 days, giving O’Grady time to file a second, and final, appeal to the three-member PGA Tour appeals panel.
