Hawaiian Festival Sports Lifeguards
Hawaii’s Festival of the Pacific winds up next weekend with two days of competition between lifeguards from Hawaii and Australia.
To be held in front of the Moana Hotel in the Waikiki section of Honolulu, the events will follow the Kamehameha Day Parade down Kalakaua Avenue at 11:30 a.m. Saturday and will be repeated Sunday at 10 a.m.
The lifeguards will be paired off against each other in outrigger canoe races, surfboard relays and a rough-water swim.
Admission is free.
