Life, No Parole Urged for Dentist Who Killed Man
Dr. Michael Myron Olson, a Gardena dentist convicted May 12 of murdering a man to prevent him from testifying in a kidnaping case, should be sentenced to life in prison without possibility of parole, a Torrance Superior Court jury recommended.
The panel deliberated less than two days before deciding Friday that Olson should not go to the gas chamber for the Dec. 5, 1981, death of David Paschal, 26, of Fullerton. Judge William R. Hollingsworth Jr. set formal sentencing for July 18.
At the time of his death, Paschal was awaiting sentencing in a kidnaping case. Olson was later convicted of the same kidnaping after a separate trial.
