Unlicensed Nightclub Raided and Closed

Los Angeles police vice officers raided and closed an unlicensed nightclub in the West Hollywood area Saturday night, arresting seven bartenders and a doorman on suspicion of selling alcohol without a license and to minors.

Officers swooped down on the club--which operates irregularly in the 8500 block of Beverly Place, near La Cienega Boulevard as part of the city’s rock-and-roll underground--in a general crackdown on such establishments, which are said to allow overcrowding and serving of liquor to minors.

In addition to employees arrested at the club, police said they were looking for two men who organized the operation.
