Robbers Get $300 at Thrifty: A pair of armed robbers emptied the cash registers of a Thrifty Drug & Discount Store, taking about $300, a police spokeswoman said Monday. One of the men held store employees at gunpoint with a small handgun while the other cleaned out the registers Sunday night, putting the money in a paper bag, police said. Before leaving the store, in the Rossmoor Shopping Center on Seal Beach Boulevard, the robbers cut the wires to the store’s three telephones, police said.
