Marina del Rey : Science Exhibit Wins Award
The Marina Foundation has awarded a $300 scholarship to Michelle Cardenas, a senior at Bishop Montgomery High School in Torrance. The award was given to Cardenas for her Los Angeles County Science Fair exhibit on the effects of waste dumped in Santa Monica Bay. Cardenas plans to attend the University of California, San Diego, next fall to study marine science.
The award is one of several programs sponsored by the Marina Foundation to promote awareness among young people of the marine environment in Los Angeles County.
