Actor Herve Villechaize, the 3-foot-11 former co-star of the “Fantasy Island” TV series, was arrested Thursday in Burbank on suspicion of kicking and threatening a 6-foot-3 process server, police said Friday.

Villechaize, 43, was arrested on suspicion of battery after the process server filed a complaint with Burbank police, Lt. Talbert Kanigher said. The actor was released Thursday on his own recognizance after posting $500 bail.

Kanigher said the process server, Eric Brownson, 40, and Villechaize’s former wife, Donna Hagen, 29, both of Burbank, approached Villechaize on the 900 block of Hollywood Way to serve papers in a civil action against the actor by Hagen.

After Villechaize inspected the papers, he threw them on the ground and began stepping on them, Kanigher said. When Brownson bent to pick up the documents, Villechaize allegedly grabbed the man’s arm, kicked his leg twice and pointed his finger at him, saying, “You’re dead.”

Villechaize then pointed his finger at his ex-wife and said, “You’re dead,” Kanigher said. Villechaize is scheduled to be arraigned in Burbank Municipal Court on June 19.

Villechaize was arrested last year on suspicion of carrying a concealed weapon. After pleading no contest to the charge, he was fined $425 and sentenced to one year of probation.
