Pasadena : Budget Cuts Ordered

Share

The Board of City Directors has instructed City Manager Donald F. McIntyre to trim $1.5 million from the proposed 1986-87 operating budget.

At Monday’s board meeting, directors told McIntyre to identify possible cuts in the $76.4-million budget that must be approved by July, the beginning of the fiscal year, and report back with his recommendations at next week’s meeting. Specific programs or services that may fall under the budget ax were not discussed.

City officials are looking to trim the proposed budget in order to allot more funds to long-range financial needs such as bolstering the city’s troubled police and fire pension fund.
