OBITUARIES : Franc Hale; Repertory Theater and Radio Actress During 1930s

Franc Hale, a repertory theater actress who appeared in a series of soap operas and adventure programs during radio’s golden years of the 1930s, died Tuesday in Santa Monica.
The featured player in “Aunt Jenny,” “John’s Other Wife,” “Jungle Jim,” “Our Gal Sunday” and “Young Doctor Malone” was 78.
She was married to Frank Gabrielson, a screenwriter who wrote the TV series “Mama.” He died in 1980.
She is survived by a daughter, Hale, and two grandchildren.
