The state lottery today gave Scientific Games a week to solve problems stemming from fraud by the company’s subcontractor or lose the job of supplying $32 million in tickets.

The five-member Lottery Commission unanimously endorsed director Mark Michalko’s decision to tell Scientific Games Inc. of Norcross, Ga., that it has until June 20 to assure the state that it can supply scratch-off tickets for games 9 through 16 without using the subcontractor, Dittler Brothers Inc. of Atlanta. Tickets for the next two California games, Nos. 7 and 8, are already in warehouses.
