An Inglewood attorney was arrested for alleged insurance fraud after the Los Angeles County district attorney’s office accused him of setting fire to his former law office to collect $5,000 in insurance claims, staging a phony automobile accident through which he received $10,000 for false medical expenses, and claiming that his Cadillac Eldorado had been stolen after he allegedly hid it in Riverside County. Algene Nash, also known as Alfred Eugene Saxon, was arrested on 13 felony counts at the Torrance courthouse, where he was appearing for his own arraignment on a vehicular manslaughter charge stemming from a November, 1985, accident in Gardena in which one person was killed.
