Two supporters of the Revolutionary Communist Party have been sentenced to jail for assaulting Los Angeles police officers during an April, 1982, demonstration in Hollywood that turned into a melee. Elizabeth Ortiz, 34, of Oakland and Cherene Lindley, 31, of Hawaii were recently convicted of misdemeanor assault charges in a seven-week trial in Los Angeles Superior Court.
