Medical Care in Canada, United States

Share

This senior citizen thanks you for the enlightening front-page story, which tells us that in Canada, with few exceptions, patients pay nothing for physicians’ costs or basic hospital charges. Nearly all costs are borne by the government. We have lucky neighbors. People in this country should be so fortunate.

Isn’t it time we had a national health program that reflected the wealth, productivity and caring of this great country? It is time for all citizens to voice their feelings and ask their representatives in Washington a few questions about health care. Why Canada and not the United States?

The enormous sums of money sent to other countries, the billions spent on defense programs can be partially, if not entirely, diverted to take care of people who are often desperately in need of proper health care and cannot afford to have it.
