L.A. Architects Receive Honors

Millard Archuleta Associates, Los Angeles, has won the National Mall Monitor Magazine’s Centers of Excellence Award. Jerde Partnership, Los Angeles, Also was associated with the project.

The winning entry was the Village Corte Madera in the “Open center over 125,000 square feet” category. The Village is a 426,000-square-foot shopping center developed by Ernest W. Hahn Inc., San Diego, and Newman Brettin Properties of Long Beach.

Located seven miles from San Francisco via the Golden Gate Bridge, the Village was designed to express the ambience of Marin county with pitched roofs, weathered materials, seaside colors and grey shingles.
