Ford Motor named a replacement for Robert Lutz, the top executive who jumped ship two weeks ago to join rival Chrysler.

Edward Hagenlocker will be elevated to vice president and will replace Lutz as general manager for truck operations, Ford said.

Hagenlocker, 46, who holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in engineering physics and a doctorate in physics from Ohio State University, had been president of Ford of Brazil for a year.

Before his transfer this year to head of truck-making operations, Lutz was chairman of Ford of Europe, which was highly profitable under his tenure.
