United Way Elects Ex-Arco Chief
The Los Angeles-area United Way announced today that William F. Kieschnick, recently retired president and chief executive officer of Arco, was elected chairman of the charity agency, which serves Los Angeles County, and parts of San Bernardino and Kern counties and provides funding for 349 local and “human care agencies and programs.”
Kieschnick succeeds outgoing board Chairman Roy A. Anderson, who became the charity’s acting president last week after Francis X. McNamara Jr. stepped aside with pay to allow a committee to study alleged irregularities in management practices.
