The mother of Boston Red Sox star Wade Boggs was killed in Tampa, Fla., and his grandmother injured when the car they were in was hit by a cement truck that ran a red light.
Sue G. Boggs, 62, was pronounced dead at the scene early Tuesday afternoon, according to the accident report filed by the Tampa police.
Boggs’ 82-year-old grandmother, Hattie Graham, who suffered a broken leg and cuts, is listed in stable condition.
