A racketeering indictment was added to conspiracy charges against the owners of a chain of private schools and a mercenary in the firebombing of cars belonging to two former teachers. The new Los Angeles federal grand jury indictment accuses the suspects of forming a criminal enterprise “to harass, intimidate and injure former employees” of the schools, in violation of federal racketeering laws. Charlotte Wyckoff, 51, and Elizabeth Hamilton, 39, both of Dana Point, and Franklin Camper, owner of an Alabama mercenary training school, are to stand trial July 22 on conspiracy and explosives charges. Three instructors from Camper’s school also are to stand trial. Wyckoff and Hamilton own five Pacific Coast Preparatory Schools in San Bernardino and Orange counties. The indictment said they hired Camper last year to harass former teachers at the elementary and preschools who had disputes with the schools.
