Radioactivity in British Lambs

From Reuters

The British government today announced a three-week ban on the movement and slaughter of sheep in northern England and Wales because radioactivity linked to the Chernobyl nuclear disaster was found in young lambs.

Agriculture Minister Michael Jopling told Parliament that radioactive cesium had been found in lambs at “higher levels than in the rest of the country” and that further testing of livestock is under way in Scotland and Northern Ireland.
