Former Gov. Edmund G. (Pat) Brown has been awarded the San Fernando Valley Democratic Party’s lifetime achievement award, named for a longtime party activist. The group presented Brown with the second annual Helen Greenberg Memorial Achievement award at the Sportsman’s Lodge in Studio City. Greenberg, who died in January, was a Democratic Party activist in the San Fernando Valley for more than 50 years. The award bearing her name is given to honor “individuals who have contributed both time and effort to the welfare of the Democratic Party in the San Fernando Valley as well as throughout the state.”
