CHILDREN’S FILM FESTIVAL SCHEDULED

Golden West College begins its yearly Children’s Film Festival today with a showing of “Bedknobs and Broomsticks.” The festival, which also includes such films as “E.T.” and “Alice in Wonderland,” will feature a screening every Wednesday at 1 p.m. through Aug. 13 in Forum II on the Huntington Beach campus.

The college will launch another annual summer series July 11, Friday Night Family Films, which will open with “101 Dalmations.” The family films will be screened in a picnic setting at dusk (8 to 8:30 p.m.) every Friday through Aug. 22 in the Golden West College outdoor amphitheater.

Admission to the children’s films is $1, with children under 3 admitted free. Groups of 15 or more should contact the college’s Community Services office, (714) 891-3991, for reservations. Children under 7 must be accompanied by an adult.

Admission to the Friday night films is $1.50, with a $6 maximum per family.
