$300,000 Added to Torrance Budget
TORRANCE —
The City Council adopted a $72.9-million general operating budget for 1986-87, adding about $300,000 for additional personnel and activation of a paramedic unit that was not a part of the city manager’s proposed budget. The additional revenues will come primarily from increased commercial fees and taxes, including an increase in hotel room taxes from 8% to 9% and an increase in the business license tax from $30 to $31 per employee.
