Julie Marie Fenton worked hard. By days she worked in the office of a Fullerton health club and by night she worked as a waitress at Elmer’s Place, a restaurant and bar on State College Boulevard in Fullerton.

So it was unlike her to fail to show up for work, and her absence Saturday worried her friends. That night, another waitress went to her apartment and there found Fenton’s partially clad body face-down on the floor.

The next morning, police arrested Andrew Lewis McCarter, 29, of Anaheim. They wouldn’t say why he was a suspect, but Brandon Smith, a bartender at Elmer’s said he had seen McCarter’s truck outside Fenton’s apartment early Saturday morning.
