Orange County authorities postponed for one year the preliminary hearing for Night Stalker suspect Richard Ramirez, who is accused of shooting a Mission Viejo man in the head and raping his girlfriend last summer. Both Chief Deputy Dist. Atty. James Enright and defense attorney Arturo Hernandez agreed in the hearing before Municipal Judge B. Tam Nomoto in Santa Ana that the delay until June 26, 1987, was necessary to clear the way for Ramirez’s trial in Los Angeles, scheduled to begin Sept. 2. That trial is expected to be long. The Texas drifter is accused of killing 14 people in Los Angeles County between June, 1984, and August, 1985.
