Scientific Games Inc. won a court ruling that may give it a chance to recapture its lost contract with the California Lottery. A Superior Court judge in Georgia granted the Norcross, Ga.-based firm the right to notify the California Lottery of its intent to bid on a new ticket-supply contract without using its once exclusive printer, Dittler Brothers of Atlanta. California Lottery Director Mark Michalko virtually fired Scientific Games last week after Dittler was found by court-appointed officials to have fraudulently overcharged for ticket materials. Lottery officials said the fraud finding threatened, by association, to taint the California games.
