Police Name Man, 45, Found Dead in Jail
A man whose body was found Sunday on the floor of a downtown jail cell was identified Wednesday by Los Angeles police as Michael Edward Lee, 45.
Police said an autopsy revealed the cause of death as “chronic alcoholism and seizure disorders, aggravated by heart conditions.”
At the time he was jailed early Sunday on an outstanding warrant on a battery count, Lee told police that he was an epileptic and a diabetic. He died Sunday in a large cell occupied by more than 30 inmates at Parker Center.
