USC to Be Christian Renewal Site

USC will be the site for the 13th annual conference on Christian Renewal July 11-13. Thirty workshops are scheduled for the conference, which is sponsored by United Methodist Renewal Ministries, Episcopal Renewal Ministries, Lutheran Charismatic Renewal Ministries and Presbyterian Reformed Renewal Ministries.

Leaders include the Rev. Tommy Tyson, who will deliver the keynote address at a general session and dinner Friday at 8 p.m. on the conference’s theme of “Walking in the Light of Christ,” Joy Dawson, representing Youth With a Mission, and Bob Ainsworth, director of World Services in Central Africa. Also scheduled are speakers from East Africa and Hawaii.

The conference will open Friday at 4 p.m. with a communion service led by Episcopalian Bishop of Los Angeles Robert Rusek. Sessions next Saturday and July 12 both begin at 6 a.m. with a communion service. Workshops are scheduled throughout the day, ending next Saturday with an 8 p.m. general session and July 12 with a 2 p.m. general session and communion service.

There is no admission charge for the conference. Overnight accommodations are available on campus for $65 (double occupancy), which includes 6 meals. Cost of meals alone is $31.
