5.4 Quake Hits Tokyo; No Damage Reported

TOKYO —
A mild earthquake shook the Tokyo area early Wednesday, and police said they received no reports of damage or injuries.
The Central Meteorological Agency said the quake struck at 1:18 a.m. and registered 5.4 on the Richter scale.
It said the quake’s epicenter was about 37 miles underground on the Kanagawa coastline just southwest of Tokyo.
Tremors were felt on the small Pacific island of Oshima 73 miles south of Tokyo, according to the agency.
