Ron Snyder, driving Miss Madison, was thrown from his boat during the third heat of the Thunder on the Ohio hydroplane race near Evansville, Ind. Snyder was conscious when he was taken by ambulance to a downtown Evansville hospital, and was “alert, moving his extremities, and in good spirits,” according to Dr. Keith Peterson, medical director for the race.
The event was later won by Jim Kropfield in Miss Budweiser.
