Strings Lose to Fire in TeamTennis, 28-17

Led by singles and doubles winner Leif Shiras, the Chicago Fire beat the Los Angeles Strings, 28-17, in TeamTennis at the Forum on Monday night.
Shiras beat Eliot Teltscher, 6-0, in men’s singles, then combined with John Mattke to defeat Teltscher and Steve Meister, 6-2, in doubles.
The Strings (1-1), won only the women’s singles, when Lisa Bonder beat Yvonne Vermaak, 6-4.
