Sean Penn Accused of Battery
The Los Angeles city attorney’s office today filed a misdemeanor battery charge against actor Sean Penn in connection with an incident last April at a downtown nightclub.
Penn, 25, is accused of committing battery on David James Wolinsky, 37, of Sherman Oaks during an argument that occurred as the actor and his wife, singer-actress Madonna, were leaving Helena’s, located at Lafayette Park Place and Temple Street. City attorney spokesman Mike Qualls said Penn, who will be arraigned Aug. 19, faces a maximum sentence of six months and a $1,000 fine.
