Fishing Report : 3 Anglers Land 479-Pound Blue Marlin

Share

Three Marina del Rey fishermen went marlin fishing last week at Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, on a Hacienda Hotel boat. All they wanted to do was catch one little striped marlin, something not one of them had ever accomplished.

Instead, they wound up in a three-on-one fight with a 479-pound, 13 1/2-foot blue marlin for 4 hours 20 minutes.

According to one of the fishermen, John Lavender, the blue was the second-largest of the season at Cabo San Lucas, behind a 550-pounder, also caught recently.
