Guinea Bissau Affirms Death for Coup Plotters

LISBON —
Guinea Bissau’s ruling Council of State on Friday confirmed death sentences for six of 12 convicted coup plotters, including a former vice president, the Portuguese news agency ANOP reported.
The 12, including former First Vice President Paulo Correia, were convicted of leading a plot to overthrow the government of the tiny West African country last November.
