PARIS — The French terrorist organization Direct Action claimed responsibility today for a car bomb that exploded before dawn outside the headquarters of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development.
The 3:30 a.m. explosion damaged the building but caused no injuries, police said. It destroyed three cars parked nearby and shattered windows up to 200 yards away in the quiet 16th arrondissement on Paris’ west side, police said.
In a letter to the news service Agence France-Presse, the terrorist group said the OECD attack placed it “on the offensive” in establishing “the proletarian politics of liberation in Western Europe.”
The bombing was the fourth in Paris this month claimed by the leftist group.
