Tandem Computers’ Net Soars 600% in 3rd Quarter

A profit increase of more than 600% was reported by Tandem Computers, a Cupertino, Calif., company that makes computer systems and networks.

Tandem said that in the third quarter ended June 30, its net income was $18.1 million, up from $2.4 million in the comparable period of 1985. Sales during the quarter were up 39% to $200.8 million.
