Protest Halts Traffic

MEXICO CITY —
Four hundred Mexicans briefly stopped traffic to protest scheduled increases in public transportation fares, news reports said Tuesday. Rates for the capital’s public bus, subway and trolley rides will increase 2,000% to the equivalent of about 3 cents on Aug. 1.
