P.V. Estates : Public Works Chief Retires

Share

Ross Meadows, whom Mayor Ruth Gralow called “the only up-through-the-ranks public works director in city history,” is retiring and was honored this week by the City Council for 28 years of service. Meadows, 58, who came to the city in 1958 as an entry-level maintenance worker and become head of the Public Works Department in 1981, has been with the city longer than any other current employee. Meadows will leave city service at the end of the month and retire with his wife, Loretta, and daughter, Tina, to a home beside a 45-mile-long lake in Oklahoma. “The fishing is real good,” Meadows said.
