Data General narrowed its third-quarter loss to $2 million from $8.3 million a year earlier while revenue rose 14%. The Westboro, Mass.-based firm attributed the loss to the continued restructuring of the company to improve its competitiveness in the computer marketplace. Data General makes minicomputers, which are midway in size between desktop personal computers and big, powerful mainframes.
