‘English Only’ Initiative
Mayor Bradley is conning the very people he should be helping.
To lull non-English-speaking or writing people into thinking that they can make it to the best of their intellectual capacity without becoming fluent in English is a disservice to them, and it will be a handicap in every possible path to progress and success in their adopted country.
And contrary to his statement it will lead to division and lack of unity. The results of passage of the initiative will not curtail the preservation of ethnic traditions and culture, but on the contrary will make it possible for these Americans to share their backgrounds with all of us by being able to communicate.
