Did Kevin Thomas (Movies on TV, July 6) see the same film I did? “The Cowboys” was a fine film about schoolboys and one wild youngster becoming men in an era with little law. There was no phone on the corner to call the police out to pick up the villains with kid gloves. By the end of the film, the “wild one” had changed and I had the feeling they were all better prepared to face the rest of their lives.
