TRASHING THE MOVIES

Share

Thank you for an insightful and timely examination of the cinema of the ‘80s. It is especially refreshing to see film critics not only point out what is wrong with Hollywood today, but revel in what is so very right with it.

I must express disappointment, however, in the fact that neither the name nor the works of Alan Parker were mentioned. His films-- most notably “Fame” and “Birdy”--are shining examples of what happens when a director gives his all to every facet of a film. What Parker gives us are complete films, rich in style and potent in content.

I’m sure you think so too. It was just an oversight, right?
