Regents Approve New Buildings at Health Complex
The University of California Board of Regents has approved the location of three new medical buildings and a parking structure at the UCLA Center for the Health Sciences complex, part of a $162-million construction project.
The new facilities will include an outpatient care center, a mental health center, a clinical faculty office building and a parking structure with up to 3,000 spaces.
The $20-million faculty building will be paid for by private sources, while the remainder of the project will be financed by the University of California, primarily through the sale of revenue bonds.
The regents are expected to vote on the project later this year. Excavation should begin in early 1987, with completion expected in 1989.
