Malaysian Airlines System (MAS) has begun twice weekly service between Los Angeles and Kuala Lumpur, the capital of Malaysia. Flights leave LAX Thursday and Saturday at 1:45 p.m. and make one stop in Tokyo. Round-trip fares begin at $1,047.

The 32nd annual Southern California Home & Garden Show will be held Saturday through Aug. 24 at the Anaheim Convention Center. The city of London will be the theme of floral designs. There will be a re-creation of a German beer garden. Other entertainment and displays will include ballet, music, antiques and model vacation homes. UTA French Airlines will begin service from Paris to San Francisco and on to Tahiti in late October or early November. This route will make it an around-the-world airline. Present service continues from Tahiti through the South Pacific, Southeast Asia and via the Persian Gulf back to Paris. UTA’s other U.S. gateways are Los Angeles and Honolulu.
