A South-Central Los Angeles man who allegedly tried to set a girl on fire and 12 days later reportedly fired shots into the house of a man to whom he owed $60 faces 14 misdemeanor charges, prosecutors said. The city attorney’s office filed the counts against Louis Taylor, 20, in connection with the July 10 incident in which he allegedly poured charcoal lighter fluid on an 18-year-old girl and tried to set her on fire. She escaped injury. A criminal complaint also charges Taylor with the shooting incident July 22. Taylor has denied the charges and faces trials on Aug. 21 and Aug. 26. He remains in custody.
