President Reagan will push for tougher anti-drug efforts and express confidence in Mexico’s economic reforms during a working visit by President Miguel de la Madrid, a senior Administration official said today.

Reagan set aside three hours for talks, including a luncheon, when De la Madrid visits Wednesday--the fifth next-door-neighbor summit with Mexico since Reagan came to office. The official said that recent strains over narcotics enforcement and other issues have been “pretty much smoothed over” and that there is an improved climate between the governments.
